Best finance app available

So glad PM is back & updated!! Its working great on my IPhone 6S Plus. I had been contemplating looking for another household budget/checking app for past year but just couldnt part with PM. So very thankful to have you folks back at it in full force!! This has been my only and preferred finance app since 2005. Please keep up the good work. I use PM on phone, IPad, and my Mac (also still have it loaded on an old Win desktop)...thank you!!! This is my prior review: Ive used some form of PocketMoney software since 2005 on a HP iPaq Windows Mobile PDA device to currently running on iPhone + iPad iOS devices & PM Desktop version running on Windows 7. So what can I say, I love the program & its functionality for household finance, budgets & banking. Ive paid for each program and if need be to keep the app from ever being discontinued, would even pay an annual fee to keep it alive...thats how serious I am about the convenience of this app! Its better than old school methods of checkbook registers & spreadsheet docs to track this stuff. Not to mention being able to update balances on my phone as Im spending. Thank you Catamount for a great app!

I HAD GIVEN UP HOPE! Thank god someone else didnt!

In January of 2015, my iPhone Pocket Money locked up. Tried emailing Hardy and received no reply. I then Started checking the forum and discovered he had passed away. We were devastated. I love this app. Tried many others while this one was "broken". I found each may have had a few features of Pocket Money here and there, but none had all of them or were nearly as easy to use. Makes me happier than a pig in poop to see that some one took on the task of updating it as it was unusable on my iPhone 6 Plus for a long long time. One question/ suggestion. Add Touch ID? Another suggestion. If possible make the number screen stay open until the abc button is clicked in the memo field. Very annoying having to keep switching back to numbers after a space. Thanks

Dont care for update

I have used this app for more years than I can remember and I use it exclusively for my finances. I have loved the app and have had no complaints other than the fact that it started to crash when switching between my accounts. Since the update Im not the happiest. I do not care for the calendar dropping to the bottom of my screen when I go to put in a date, I liked it up at the top where my fingers are. Also, when I go back to the main screen the balances are not there. Its as if the screen is expanded past the edge of the iPad. If I go into an account and go back sometimes its there and sometimes it isnt. Not liking the update AT ALL

Good one

You want to manually manage your money? this app is for you.

Fix when adding transaction

I love this app and use it for all expense tracking from checking to mortgage... They need to fix something though. If you have reoccurring transactions like I do out for 60 days, when adding a new transaction the register will go all the way to the bottom of the future transaction. So it will not stay on the date that you just added the new transaction on. Its annoying because you have to scroll all the way back through the 60 future days to get to today. Please fix this!!! I would rate 5 stars if not for that.

The best, fast, and user friendly finance app!

I have been using Pocketmoney since the days of the Palm handhelds, and nothing has beat the simplicity and great functionally of Pocketmoney. Now with the most recent update, the crashes are gone and its my main finance app again.

The best money management

Ive been using PocketMoney for six years and it remains the best choice on iOS

The best!!!

Love this app. Glad it has returned to the App Store.

Latest update

So glad that the calendar is back for date entry! This is a great app and was disappointed when the last update changed to scrolling date entry. I have always thought this app is a great budgeting tool.

So glad this App is back!!

So glad this app is back in updates. I unfortunately had to give it up when the updates stopped a couple of years ago. Its by far the best finance app in the App Store for what I need it to do. Would love to see Touch ID as a security option in future updates. Well done Catamount!!

PM is back!!

Actually it was never entirely gone, except for the period of time during which it was out of the App Store. Ive used it to track my finances for many years now. When it stopped updating it began to crash after selecting an account. If you just put password in again, it was OK. Now that it has been updated the crashes have ceased and the piggie is happy again. Ive tried several alternatives during PMs worst time, but concluded that a limping PM was better than any competing product. Now, thankfully, I no longer have to make such compromises. Going forward, Id love to see PM integrated with Apple Pay somehow--easier said than done, Im sure.

Thank You!!

Update 05/11/2016: - Still a wonderful app, please keep the amazing work! Original Review: I just want to express my gratitude that there is still support for this amazing app. I have been an avid user for years and was sad to see support dropped a ways back. Nevertheless I could not find a suitable replacement since and continued using PocketMoney even to this day (hour), minor crashes and all. Keep up the great work and thank you for not giving up!

Amazing that its back!

Used it for several years, switched to Pocket Expense because of consistent crashes. Recently they also updated the app and has many errors, so PocketMoney came back in time! Looking forward to the following updates! One recommendation, similar to Pocket Expense a calendar view for transactions would be a welcome addition. Also, an update of the logo would be great as well (never been to much of a fan of the piggy in my home screen ☺️).

Best in Class!

I originally bought PocketMoney in 2011 to get a handle on my cash flow as part of my retirement planning. Since then I have used this app to track every penny that has passed through my hands (oh no: travel and gifts). PocketMoney has given me an amazingly clear view of my spending patterns and retirement income planning needs. I no longer have to guess; I know how much income I need for retirement planning purposes. This will save me literally thousands of dollars in financial advisor planning dollars. Thank you, Nick. PocketMoney is my most-used app, bar none Previous review: When the original developer died and the app degraded through neglect, I think I bought and tried every alternative app in the store. Nothing compared to the flexibility of this app. And I found all of the alternatives disappointing. PocketMoney lets me track expenses and plan my budget the way I want to, not the way some academician tells me I should. The construction is elegantly simple: two account types, asset and liability; three transaction types, withdrawal, deposit, and transfer. And from that simple base I can track and manage all of my accounts. I would have paid full fare for this update, but instead it was free. Thanks, Nick! This update is like welcoming an old friend home.

Welcome back!

This is the greatest money app. When Catamount stopped supporting it, I tried all kinds of replacements. Nothing even came close. I kept going back to Pocketmoney & learned how to work around the crashes & bugs. So glad youre back.

Help!! Font too small

New update changed font that is entirely too small for iPhones.

Excellent unique app, so happy it continues!!

Thank You Nick for taking over support of this unique app and continuing Hardys legacy! Like the many, many old time users of PocketMoney, I was deeply concerned when support dwindled after Hardys death years ago. I would be very hesitant with each major iOS upgrade, fearing that PM would finally break and I would not have an app with this amount features to track my information!! I had waited months to see the feedback on the support forum and made sure Ive exported essential data before doing the iOS upgrades. Its a testament of Hardys programing skills that this app survived this long with minimal problems. Now it looks like Nick has taken on the enormous task of understanding the internals of this app, fixed outstanding issues and mapping out its future. Its been very refreshing to read all the forum postings on the progress. Nice seeing all the beta testers providing feedback. And open discussions on the path into the future. I finally felt confident enough to upgrade to the latest version and it resolved all the annoying issues Ive lived with over these years!! Thanks Nick!! Now I can resume recommending this app to friends! Im so grateful Web Browser was an alternative to SyncDocs for exporting QIF Recent Activities! Need that for importing data into my very very old version of Quicken!! Looking forward to Nicks plans on PocketMoney Desktop, so I can finally replace Quicken (but need a way to import my decades of data from Quicken)!!

The best financial app for iOS

Long time user of Quicken on my Mac until they abandoned the Mac app. Went to PocketMoney on my iOS devices and found I could move away from Quicken. I use both desktop and mobile versions now exclusively. The latest updates solved the problem of the app crashing when you switched apps, but now its working perfectly. My only requests of the app have not been fulfilled yet, but Im still hoping: The first would be to download and import transactions directly from my banking institutions rather than manual entry or downloading to the desktop on my Mac and importing the file to the desktop version then syncing with my mobile versions. Next would be to setup payments and send them thru PocketMoney. I would like the mobile versions to be able to have multiple files like the desktop version and be able to open whichever file you choose. For example, I handle my parents finances and I dont want to include their accounts with mine, so I have a separate file for their accounts. Lastly, and this goes along with the previous request, I wish that "Roll Up" could archive and store multiple files. For example, if I only wanted to keep the current years as well as the previous years transactions in a file, but be able to look back several years by opening an archived file. My current file is so large that when I perform a search it looks back to the very beginning of my file. When I want to return to the most recent transactions I have to scroll a long ways to get back to today. I used Quicken to track my investments and to update current prices for all my investments as well as downloading transactions from Fidelity. I have yet to try tracking these same accounts thru PM, and Im not sure it can be done simply, including cost basis, capital gains, etc. Otherwise for a rather inexpensive app, its pretty incredible! I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking for a financial app for their iOS devices as well as a desktop app for their Mac.

Absolutely love, cant live without, B U T...

I have used PM for many years on my iPad and love it to the point that I can no longer managed my accounts anywhere else which is why the fact that I can no longer export from my bank in to PocketMoney is such an issue! Everything works the same until PM opens and the Account screen comes up B L A N K! Where it used to show a default of "download 123" it is now blank with no way to type in my account info for the download. The only option is to hit OK which creates a new account with the download number on it. I now have 6 new accounts that I cant use and my banking downloads are completely messed up. Please tell me how to fix this issue sooner rather than later. Thanks! (5stars is because this is an unbeatable ap and this is my first big issue in these many years. I just need a fix for this one.)

Update, happy again!!!

Update: the software didnt get abandon! So happy to see this recent 2016 update. Going to use the app again! So far all the issue are resolved and the app is working well on my iOS9 iPhone 6s. I am showing my older review only to point out how long I have used this app. I also just downloaded the desktop app and it works slick! The sync feature works well. Also they now have iCloud backup. Very Happy customer again! I have used tons of budget apps and nothing work as well as PocketMoney!! This is the best Budget/money app-2016! Thank you CataMount (now nick) I suspect someone bought them up. Older review, from 2013... I am happy to change this review, but for now I can’t give over 3 stars and that is being generous. Why? well in iOS6 this app worked great. No crashing, fonts aligned, color scheme was readable. Now with iOS 7 given to developers back in summer of 2013, I am not sure catamount is planning on any updates to fix any of the current issues found on the forum. This is bad business and causes us loyal customers to abandon ship. So, check out catamounts site to see if the developer(s) (eric?) respond with some love for this app that keeps one of my most important things (money!) organized and in budget. Don’t fail us Catamount, or your customers will affect all the other apps purchases by poor star ratings and feedback the developer has no control over. Hence Apple created the App store.
